FNA - Nacional Handicrafts Vila do Conde Fair

Atelier Móveis d’Arte Canhoto will be at the 47th National Handicraft Fair in Vila do Conde, from July 26th to August 10th.

Luxury furniture pieces, inspired by the Portuguese adventures around the world, will be presented live using inlay and marquetry techniques—the work of cabinetmakers, masters of the secrets of artisanal creation.

With free admission and held in an open-air space, the Fair brings together approximately 200 artisans from across the country.

This year, the event highlights the theme "Angels and Demons – Fighting the Stigma of Mental Illness," an initiative that elevates art as an instrument of inclusion and emotional expression.

The Canhoto family looks forward to your visit to share this unique moment, where art, design, and social awareness converge.

FIA -International Handicrafts Lisbon Fair

Atelier Móveis d’Arte Canhoto will be back at the edition of the FIA ??- International Crafts Fair, at FIL, the Lisbon International Fair, in the largest crafts fair in the Iberian Peninsula. For nine days, there will be an exhibition of national and international crafts, as well as a gastronomy area.

The Atelier will present several pieces of decorative furniture, with woods of various colors. A unique explosion of color, which combines luxury with visual joy, in a unique combination in the panorama of Portuguese furniture, inspired by the Indo-Portuguese style and the Mughal style.

The Canhoto family awaits you in Pavilion 1 stand 1C17, to present to you the art and luxury with which the pieces of Atelier Móveis d’Arte Canhoto are created.

Atelier Móveis d’Arte Canhoto is pleased to announce that will be back for the 34th edition of the International Handicraft Fair, in Lisbon, Parque das Nações, FIL. Which is the largest national and international handicraft show in the Iberian Peninsula - and the second largest in Europe.

In the biggest multi-cultural event in the Iberian Peninsula, the Atelier will be working live on the creation of a new piece, as well as restoring a work of art and will present a pair of Indo-Portuguese Fénix Colored Office Drawers.

For the first time, the Atelier will present a piece of decorative furniture (a pair of offices boxes) of Mughal influence…

The International Crafts Fair of Lisbon (FIA) is the medium par excellence in the dissemination of handicrafts. Since the beginning, Atelier Móveis d'Arte Canhoto has been invited to be present, in addition to its own stand, in the space of the City Hall of Mafra, with pieces allusive to the Tapada de Mafra, as well as the artisans of the Atelier will be in some moments manufacturing live.

Our workshop will present luxury pieces, resulting from the Portuguese voyages, through seas never before navigated, in the epic of the discoveries. We will be working live bringing the knowledge and craftsmanship of the inlay of wood and marquetry, alongside with the strumming of the landmark of the city, bobbine lace. Sharing with you the passion with which the pieces are created, as well as the techniques and ancestral knowledge of craftsmanship.

Admission is free at Av. Júlio Graça Gardens outdoors, in compliance with the guidelines of the General Directorate of Health, the space will be limited to 1,000 visitors simultaneously, as well as the number of exhibitors.

We are pleased to inform that we will be present at the invitation of IEFP - Institute od Emplyment and Vocational Training, in the 57th National Agricultural Fair / 67th Ribatejo Fair, exhibition at Santarém.

In this exhibition we will be working live on a few new wood pieces. Also will be exposed a range of representative pieces from our Atelier of marquetry and carved wood handicraft.

This is an opportunity provided by the IEFP to our Atelier to publicize the luxury crafts in the central region of Portugal.

The oldest and largest National Handicrafts Fair, with an average of 400 thousand visitors, the Portuguese traditional arts intersect with the sounds of the instruments and the sounds of wood in its transformation into works of art, where our workshop will be building live.

Admission is free and we will share with you the passion with which our wooden classic and historical furniture are created, as well as the techniques of how they are made. We build timeless furniture that remain from generation to generation.

The Atelier Móveis d’Arte Canhoto is pleased to announce that will attend the International Handicrafts Fair, in Lisbon, Parque das Nações, FIL. "A space where you share emotions and revisit traditions!"

In the most intercultural festival in the Iberian Peninsula, the Atelier will be live finishing a small piece - Indo-Portuguese Crucifix, which was featured in the newspaper "Negócios". This piece is a tribute that the Atelier makes to the memory of the precious Indo-Portuguese heritage. For the first time at the FIA, the Atelier will present a new model of D. Maria Rica dresser.

The International Handicrafts Fair is the perfect place to promote the handicrafts made in Portugal. As in the previous edition, the Atelier Móveis d'Arte Canhoto was invited to be present within the Ministry of Economy stand - "Portugal is me", as well as in the Institute for Employment and Professional Training - IEFP stand.

This year the exhibition offers a journey through the tradition of "Artisans of sounds", a theme that is close to Master Firmino's heart (who plays 16 musical instruments, mostly made by himself) and that serves as inspiration for many of his projects. Our workshop will present all the luxury, art, knowledge and mastery craftsmanship in marquetry along with the strumming of the landmark of the city, bobbine lace.

This is also an opportunity for Atelier Móveis d'Arte Canhoto to thank the warm welcome from the North to our workshop in the previous edition of the fair.

In the most intercultural festival in the Iberian Peninsula, the Atelier will be live finishing the latest creation, the Indo Portuguese Cabinet Naginis. The name of this cabinet, comes from the four sculptures on the trivet (bottom of the cabinet). The cabinet box (top) is decorated with Jatayus accompanied by geometric elements.

FNA - Nacional Handicrafts Vila do Conde Fair

We are pleased to inform that we will be present at the invitation of IEFP - Institute od Emplyment and Vocational Training, in the 53rd National Agricultural Fair / 63rd Ribatejo Fair, exhibition at Santarém.
In this exhibition we will be working live in the nine days of the fair on a new Indo Portuguese cabinet, medium sized model with wood carved feet. Also will be exposed a range of representative pieces from our Atelier of marquetry and carved wood handicraft.
The theme of FNA16 is Portuguese Fruit. In this context, the Atelier Móveis d'Arte Canhoto will be demonstrating the use of wood originating from fruit trees that was always used in the manufacture of furniture. This is an opportunity provided by the IEFP to our Atelier to publicize the luxury crafts in the central region of Portugal.

In partnership with Vandoma Design, for the first time, presented to the public the table "Once upon a time..." At the Palace of Arts in Oporto, on 29th May 2010.

15-05-2010 Inaugural Concert - Six Pipe Organs of the Royal Basilica Mafra

After a long break of two centuries, the set of six historical pipe organs of the Royal Basilica of Mafra return to play after complex restoration process. It is with pride that the Atelier Móveis d'Arte Canhoto participated with the organ maker responsible for restoration: Dinarte Machado. The six pipe organs are again operational and Portugal has now its unique historical musical instrument ready to be played. Inaugural concert at the Royal Basilica of Mafra, on the 15th May 2010 at 9pm.
